History
Company Founded
Domenic Gurreri founded Forest Contractors Ltd. Since then, Domenic has been a driving force in establishing a reputable, customer-centric business and industry leader. In a pivotal move in 1996, Domenic strategically acquired 15 pieces of machinery. This strategic acquisition enabled Forest Contractors to take full ownership of its equipment, a move that aligned with the ethos of maintaining high standards and expertise throughout the organization. By vertically integrating equipment ownership into its operations, Forest Contractors solidified its ability to control quality, optimize efficiency, and ensure seamless project completion.
First Head Office Location
Stationed above an Italian restaurant, Forest Contractors Ltd. moved into its first head office location on Carlauren Road. While Domenic and his team occupied this modest space for only a brief period, it stands as a reminder for Domenic to always stay grounded and remember his roots, because Forest’s next move would eventually become a staple in the Forest Group story.
Combining Shop and Office
At 101 Freshway Drive, Forest Contractors Ltd. established its first office location with a shop. This head office location holds paramount significance, as it often marks a significant turning point in the growth and development of the company. Less than a decade later, another significant development would emerge a few kilometers away on Freshway Drive.
The First Forest Contractors Ltd Yard
With the expansion of both office and field teams, coupled with equipment acquisitions, the Freshway office proved inadequate for Forest’s rapid growth. As a result, Domenic relocated Forest to its first office facility with a yard. The Clarence Street office provided space for the expanding team and featured a modest-sized yard for its developing fleet.
From Blueprint to Reality
In his hunt for a new head office facility and a bigger yard, Domenic stumbled upon vacant land on Cadetta road. Seeing this land as his blank canvas, Domenic envisioned and constructed the new headquarters and yard for Forest Contractors Ltd. Although Forest would eventually relocate its head office location for its 25th anniversary, the echoes of foresight set by its Freshway address, would ultimately bring Forest Contractors Ltd. back to Cadetta; heralding the commencement of a fresh chapter in the Forest Group narrative: the inception of a new division within the Forest Group.
New Forest Asphalt Plant
With the opening of our very own asphalt plant in Vaughan, Forest Contractors Ltd. has achieved enhanced efficiency in manufacturing top-tier materials to serve both our projects and valued customers. Asphalt production stands as a cornerstone of our expertise, consistently delivering the highest-grade materials that find application across a diverse range of services.
Purchased AWP Company
The Forest Group expanded its footprint in the construction industry with an exciting acquisition of A. Wesley Paving (AWP) Ltd. Paving. This acquisition strengthens our commitment to delivering top-notch paving solutions. Integration of AWP resources has allowed for even greater success for both customers and partners
