As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Forest Contractors Ltd., we reflect on our journey, the milestones we’ve achieved, and the exciting new horizons we’re exploring. Founded in the spring of 1994 by Domenic Gurreri, Forest Contractors Ltd. has grown from humble beginnings to a leading name in the construction industry in the GTA and the surrounding GTA areas. Best of all, thanks to this robust foundation, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Forest Ready Mix this year, which is a new materials division that expands our capabilities and reinforces our commitment to excellence.

Planting a Legacy of Passion and Perseverance
Forest Contractors Ltd.’s journey began with Domenic Gurreri’s vision and passion for construction, nurtured during his civil engineering studies at George Brown College. At just 20 years old, Domenic faced significant challenges, including securing a start-up loan for purchasing essential heavy equipment. With the support of his family, he secured the necessary financing and began building what would become a cornerstone company in the construction industry.
These experiences early on instilled the work ethic and commitment to integrity that has been the bedrock of Forest Contractors’ Ltd. success. Through the profound value of familial support, our company’s foundation has played a crucial role in shaping the approach to our business and life.
Branching Out for Growth and Innovation
Forest Contractors Ltd.’s growth over the years has been marked by strategic investments and a relentless focus on quality and client satisfaction. In 1996, just two years after its founding, the company invested in its own machinery, ensuring that Forest Contractors Ltd. had the resources and expertise to handle any project independently. This early commitment to owning and maintaining high-quality equipment set the stage for the company’s future growth and success.
Today, Forest Contractors Ltd. operates with a diverse team of expert tradespeople and a comprehensive fleet of equipment. Our services span asphalt paving, concrete construction, building restoration and aggregate supply, with state-of-the-art technology like our green asphalt plant, Smoothride Technology and advanced road grinding capabilities. Our teams are masters of their craft, delivering precise and durable results even in the challenging climates of southern Ontario.
Introducing Forest Ready Mix: Top-quality Ready-mix Concrete
In our 30th year, we’re proud to introduce Forest Ready Mix Ltd., our new materials division. This addition to the Forest Group allows us to provide top-quality ready-mix concrete tailored to the specific needs of our projects. With Forest Ready Mix Ltd., we enhance our service offerings, ensuring that every aspect of our work meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Connecting our Roots to Community and Excellence
Throughout our journey, we’ve remained deeply committed to our community. Community efforts include supporting local charities like The Hospital for Sick Children and in commissioning the Ross Gurreri Park in memory of Domenic’s brother. The company also supports The Mackenzie Health Foundation, which plays a crucial role in ensuring Mackenzie Health patients receive the best possible care. We also support Waves of Changes for Autism, a non-for-profit charity that aids children aged 13 and under with the goal of assisting families in the community with the costs incurred for specialized treatment and programs.
