WHY
The Name “Forest”
Domenic Gurreri began his contracting journey through his inaugural venture, Forest Landscape Contractors. However, before he could fully engage in his endeavors, he sought a name that would accurately encapsulate the essence of the work he passionately cultivated daily. He required a name that would evoke the concepts of greenery, agriculture, tranquility and the serene rejuvenation he aimed to off his customers. It was during this time that the name “Forest” materialized as the perfect choice.
While the company later pivoted its focus to civil construction, Domenic was determined to preserve the name and reputation he had diligently built since the company’s inception. Instead of opting for a complete name and branding overhaul, Forest Contractors’ name stayed – and continues to stand strong to this day.

WHY
The Yellow Shield
During his bustling tenure as the leader of Forest Landscape Contractors, Domenic embarked on a quest to discover the emblem that would symbolize his latest endeavor. Domenic harbored a clear vision of a logo capable of harmonizing the realms of general contracting, civil engineering, and road construction. Looking for creative inspiration, spanning even across international borders, the Forest logo would come from an unlikely source. Domenic’s younger cousin volunteered to try his hand at crafting the logo. The very day Domenic’s cousin undertook this creative endeavor marked the birth of the iconic shield. Over 25 years later, the shield is still here to stay.

To date, Domenic applies every Forest shield logo that you see on the Forest Group vehicles and machinery!
The Forest Combination Roller
The initial acquisition of the Forest roller marked a groundbreaking move in the commercial and industrial sector. The incorporation of a rubber tire combined with a smooth drum roller reflected forward-thinking within the industry, offering a superior finish. At the time, competitors were not utilizing such advanced equipment in a patch and repair setting. Although Forest later sold the roller to invest in other machinery, in 2011, we reacquired the roller, and it currently stands as a distinctive centerpiece in the Forest head office lobby.
