Tribute to Ross & Liborio

Ross Gurreri

Ross Gurreri, the shining star of the Gurreri family, was the youngest among three brothers and a devoted son to his parents, Alfonso and Josie. Supported by his brothers, Domenic and Liborio, Ross exhibited remarkable resilience in his courageous fight against cancer until his untimely passing in 2007.

He truly embodied greatness and left behind a profound legacy marked by his outgoing personality, compassionate heart, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Every passing day without Ross presents an enduring test of our resilience. The absence of his presence has etched deep scars upon our hearts, leaving an unfathomable void. In 2010, the Ross Gurreri Park in Kleinberg was established in his honor, and a courtyard was dedicated to his memory at St. Padre Pio Church.

Each truck and piece of equipment at Forest Group is marked with an RG sticker to honor Ross and his memory each day through the company and each employee.

In 2010, upon the arrival of his first child, Domenic named his son Ross Gurreri, in memory of his late brother, ensuring the legacy of Ross for the next generation.

Liborio Gurreri

Liborio was the Founder & CEO of TOR CAN ICI Roofing, a joyful man, full of life, and always seen with a smiling face. His unwavering love for his family, boundless kindness, and remarkable spirit have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Liborio’s life was a testament to joy and resilience. He embraced each day with a smile, spreading positivity and warmth wherever he went. As a father, his dedication and love for his children were unparalleled. He taught them not only with words but through his actions, embodying the values of compassion, integrity, and joy.

All those who knew and worked for Liborio Gurreri were witness to his great spirit of generosity, which he demonstrated through his support and involvement with several charitable initiatives, including Josie’s Pink Truck Foundation, which the family launched in loving memory of his daughter, Josie. Today, members of the community can spot the pink TOR CAN trucks continuing to raise awareness for life-saving research and now carrying forward the legacy of compassion and strength in honor of Josie and Liborio Gurreri.

Though our hearts ache with his loss, Liborio’s legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us through the memories shared by his family, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and joy. His spirit lives on in his children, Alfonso and Adrianna; his parents, Alfonso and Giuseppina; his life-partner Hunaida, her daughter Jackie; and his brother Domenic.
